Digital Cleanup Day raises awareness about digital pollution and encourages everyone to declutter their digital lives. Now in its fifth year, Digital Cleanup Day took place March 15, 2025. However, AISV is participating during the following week with our own Digital Cleanup Week from March 17–21, 2025. Our goal is to educate our community about the impact our digital habits have on the environment through a
series of initiatives, with student-produced awareness video used to promote the event.
During Digital Cleanup Week, AISV will provide donation/recycle bins on campus for used electronic items. Once collected, we will then deliver these items to one of two local agencies supporting this intiaitive. There will be collection boxes in the Elementary School and Technology Office. Students and faculty will also have designated time to clean up their Google Drive and email accounts by deleting items
that are no longer needed.
Since 2020, more than 1.18 million people have participated in Digital Cleanup Day by deleting 14.5 million GB of data and preventing 3,625 tons of CO₂ emissions annually (source: digitalcleanupday.org).
The AIS Vienna community is proud to be responsible digital citizens and help protect our environment.
