The best human moments come from empathy; when we are able to see through the eyes of others, we can connect and relate to their lives, needs and struggles. This year’s event, held on Saturday, March 4, focused on Perspectives, a tool essential for creating a better world for all people. We hope that our event has helped audience members to challenge their assumptions, explore new perspectives, and connect with others in a more meaningful way.

Our very successful 3^rd TEDxYouth@TashkentIntlSchool highlighted one teacher guest speaker, and ten student speakers from grades 9-12 who were not afraid to question and speculate, to challenge assumptions and connect with others in a meaningful way. Some topics included: living with ADHD, the importance of scientific literacy, feminism, ethics and morality, thoughts about death, living as a TCK, and the abstract nature of words. Following the event, we had a short celebration with music and refreshments.

We are extremely proud of our student speakers who attended an audition process and once selected went through rigorous training and practices to be in front of a delightful audience.  What great risk-takers!
